Zac Brown Band, James Taylor duet on 'Colder Weather' at the ACM Awards

The Zac Brown Band and the Academy of Country Music Awards saved some of the best for last Sunday night (April 3).

Brown got the final performance spot of the ACM show, and he was joined on stage by James Taylor. They did a duet of Brown's current single "Colder Weather," then closed with a few lines from Taylor's "Sweet Baby James."

The heart-on-his-sleeve Brown and the more mellow Taylor (wearing a cowboy hat for the occasion) meshed surprisingly well, and it made for one of the better musical moments from the awards show, which tilted way more to the performance side of things than the trophy-giving side.

To our ears, the album version of "Colder Weather" even sounds like something Taylor could have sung back in the '70s (their performance Sunday was a little more turned up).

The band's recorded version of "Colder Weather" is below. As soon as we find video of Sunday's performance, we'll share it.
